Getting to Inverness

By Air

Fly into Inverness Airport at Dalcross (IV2 7JB), around 10 miles east of the city. Stagecoach Highlands’ number 11 route runs a direct connection between the airport and city centre every half hour.

By Bus

Regular buses link Inverness with other Highland communities, and express coaches run to the main cities of Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.

By Train

Inverness Railway Station sits in the city centre, with direct services to Edinburgh, Glasgow and London from the south and Aberdeen from the east. Two scenic lines run north to Thurso & Wick and west to Kyle of Lochalsh.

Three major routes converge on Inverness, connecting the city with the south, the east coast and the western Highlands.

South links Inverness with Perth, Edinburgh, Glasgow and the south — continuing north across the Kessock Bridge to the Northern Highlands.

East links Inverness to the seaside holiday resort of Nairn and on to Aberdeen.
