What Else Is There? perform original songs of stripped-back, close-harmonised vocals and piano, with the occasional fresh take on a jazzy or soulful cover. Their material is about a life thoroughly lived. The vocals are strong, the melodies unexpectedly hooky, and the songs land as if they were written about the listener’s own life. The Hot Club of Inverness are a local gypsy jazz group playing music inspired by Django Reinhardt, Stéphane Grappelli and the swing era. Featuring violin, guitars and double bass, the group play a lively mix of gypsy jazz standards, swing tunes and a few favourites given the Hot Club treatment.
